Moser Glassworks in the 20th Century

The topic of the Bachelor's thesis is the Moser glassworks and its period since the peak of its work, which reached the beginning of the 20th century when relations with Austria-Hungary brought the glassworks an international response, which persists to the present day. Specifically, in this thesis is defined the period of the 20th century, when it comes to technology, processing, collection, and the largest event associated with the Moser glassworks in this period. The first part of the text mentions the general, historical development of the glass industry in the Czech territory, which is mentioned with the Great Industrial Revolution, which led to the rise of industry, in this case also the glass industry and when has begun the unstoppable development of technology in this sector. The main part of the text is devoted to the 20th century, when many events took place on its basis based on developing new processes in glass processing by this glassworks and when product collections were created, presented at the most prestigious exhibitions, or created for specific orders. The Beginnings of Modern Glass Industry in Northwestern Bohemia, and Glaverbel Czech a.s. an Exporter of Flat Glass to the Countries of the European Union

The aim of my bachelor thesis is to create a well-arranged summary of the beginnings of the modern glass industry mainly in the Nortwestern Bohemia and to introduce Glaverbel Czech a.s. In my thesis I will describe the absolute beginning of glass industry, introduce the existing as well as the already ceased glass works in Northwestern Bohemia (mainly around the city of Teplice) and will present chosen examples of international cooperation in the area of flat glass production, e.g. France, Belgium, Great Britain, Japan. The most important part of this thesis will be the introduction of Glaverbel Czech a.s., its history, present and future development, glass types, visions and the position on EU markets, in which Glaverbel Czech a.s. exports its products.
Glassmaking and landscape. A contribution to the research on postmedieval glassmaking in Českomoravská vrchovina on the example of the deserted glassworks in Milovy (Žďár nad Sázavou)

The aim of the thesis is to summarize historical development of glassmaking in Bohemia and Moravia since the end of the eighteenth century until the beginning of the First World War and it contains detailed interpretation of microrelief of the deserted post medieval glassworks in Milovy (District of Žďár nad Sázavou). The thesis is focused on changes of technology of production and refining of glass, effects of glassmaking on land ecology and social development in pursued period. Geodetic-topographical plan of the deserted site, which served as main source material for functional interpretation of microrelief of the deserted glassworks in Milovy, is the inseparable part of the thesis.
Buquoy aristocratic family, history and cultural legacy in Bohemia

1 Abstract The Buquoy aristocratic family is a branch of the Longueval family that has origins in current France. The Buquoys arrived in Lands of the Bohemian Crown during the thirty years' war when Charles Bonaventure was called in to fight Bohemian Protestants. Soon after, he received an estate in the Southern Bohemia from Ferdinand II where he and his descendants stayed nearly three and a half centuries. The Buquoys soon extended their opulent estates by Prague palaces and few regions in the North Bohemia. They contributed to advances in agriculture, glassblowing and in the area of social and scholar reforms. They were also engaged in politics and became important patrons of culture and arts. Nevertheless, the Buquoys suffered the same fate as other aristocratic families. In the beginning of the 19th century, they started losing their privileges and estates and, in 1945, they were expelled from Czechoslovakia based on Beneš decrees concerning retribution. The aim of this thesis is to point out the cultural legacy which Buquoys left behind in the current Czech Republic and to describe their overall contribution in particular areas. The Czech Republic as country of origin of products – concentrated on chosen segment

This thesis is divided into theoretical and application part. The theoretical part includes an introduction to subject of country of origin and terminology. The application part implements the discovered findings in the context of the Czech Republic and chosen segment. The essential objective of this thesis is introducing the concept of Country of Origin as one of the key elements defining consumer behaviour. Another goal is to find an attractive segment for successful branding of the Czech Republic, while drawing benefits from the use of the country of origin by companies. This thesis also analyses the impact of country of origin on the marketing strategies of selected companies and the image of the Czech Republic as country of origin of products in chosen segment. The output of this theses are adjustments recommendations of communication of the Czech Republic, as the country of origin of the goods of the chosen segment.
Ethnological Aspects of the Glass Industry in the Bohemian Forest

This research reflects issues of glassmaking in the Bohemian Forest since the beggining of the craft production in the second half of the 14th century till the fate of the glass industry in the second half of the 20th century. At the same time the study points to the current position and possibilities of glass production in the region. The central theme of the research focuses local production of painting on glass, acquiring importance in the context of folk piety of the second half of the 18th century. This period corresponds with the largest expansion of the glass industry in the Bohemian Forest, where was concentrated the largest number of the glass factories in Europe. The study is not based only on literatury but also field research and interwievs with contemporary painters of painting on glass.

History of Michlova Huť in 17th and 18th Century. Contribution to History of Sumava Glass Industry.

Bachelor thesis History of "Michlova huť"in the 17th and 18thcentury aims to elucidate the history of glassworks in Šumava, which is famous for the discovery of the cretaceous glass. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter briefly presents the estate Vimperk and nobility, under which the selected glassworks belonged. The next part deals with the issue of Šumava´s glass industry in the 17th and 18th century. The third chapter provides information about the glass productionand glass-making tools and also presents products produced in mentioned glassworks. The main part of this thesis is the fourth chapter, which deals with this glassworks. It represents individual glass-making foremen and their rights and obligations and itdescribes the general position of "Michlova huť" in the selected period. The thesis also includes appendix with pictures.
